From 26 to 28 May 2025, the European Parliament in Strasbourg hosted the fourth edition of the European Student Assembly (ESA), a flagship event of the EUC Voices Erasmus+ project. Bringing together over 240 students from 58 European University Alliances, the Assembly created a vibrant forum for civic dialogue, youth-led policy proposals, and collaborative action shaping the future of Europe.

Among this year’s participants were three students representing the EMERGE European University Alliance:
Silvia Rabuazzo (Europa-Universität Flensburg),
Lygeri Athina Panousi (Democritus University of Thrace), and
Eeman Fatima (University of Limerick)

Over three days of in-person sessions, the students worked in thematic panels addressing some of Europe’s most pressing challenges—from inclusivity and regional cohesion to climate policy, mental health, and digital governance. The panels culminated in policy recommendations presented at the European Parliament, reinforcing the critical role of student voices in democratic and institutional processes.

Reflecting on her participation, Silvia Rabuazzo shared:
“Taking part in the European Student Assembly 2025 was a truly eye-opening and inspiring experience. I had the chance to work closely with students from all across Europe, each bringing unique backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. Collaborating with such a diverse group not only enriched our discussions but also helped me grow both personally and intellectually.”

Beyond formal sessions, EMERGE students used the opportunity to connect with fellow Alliance peers, including a symbolic meeting between Silvia Rabuazzo and Lygeri Athina Panousi, highlighting the power of shared identity across borders. The event also included the Alliances Village, where students introduced their respective alliances and their role in building a more democratic, inclusive, and engaged European Higher Education Area.

EMERGE is proud to support its students in such initiatives, which exemplify the alliance’s commitment to empowerment, inclusion, and regional engagement. ESA 2025 stands as a strong reminder that students are not only the future of Europe, they are also active architects of its present.
